Pan Channel letters lighting improperly, or not at all, can be many things,
depending on whether they are illuminated with LED, neon or fluorescent.
Neon
A good installation of neon should last a long time, but eventually the
high-voltage wiring ages and dries and the gases in the neon will begin to
diminish.
Frequently we find that neon has been improperly "loaded" and then the
transformers fail pretty quickly. Loading neon refers to the length of the
neon that is being electrically driven by a transformer of a given size. For
example, 30ft of clear red neon can be driven nicely by a 9000volt
transformer. A 15000volt transformer will light it as well, but will go bad very
quickly in comparison.
When we repair or maintain your neon sign, we will double-check to make
certain that the loading was done properly if there is an indication that might
be a problem.
LED
Typically there are only a couple of reasons why LED isn't lighting properly.
Assuming that it lit entirely after install, the failure of the power supply will
cause the entire portion of the sign connected to the power supply to go out,
or the failure of one or more LED modules will cause a single letter to remain
unlit.

Service & Maintenance
Before
After
Yes, both of the above are untouched photos!
The original sign, (installed by others) had an unsatisfactory LED
installation which had not weathered well. We replaced the LED
with good quality units, placed properly to assure even light,
cleaned the faces and replaced the logo face.
We know what the problem is and how to fix it.
An older Cabinet Sign that isn't lighting properly or at all could need anything
from a single lamp to a complete rewiring, but if all it needs is a lamp, that's
all you'll pay for. Well, that and the time to replace it.
If it does need to be rewired, we can save you money long-term with
higher-efficiency ballasts and a full two-year warranty on everything we do.
